FAQs
Will this work in a rental?
Yes — we have countertop and shower options that don’t require major changes.
What does “Good, Better, Best” protection look like for most homes?
Every home is unique, but most families we serve fall into a simple “Good, Better, Best” pattern:
- Good: Start with a solid under-sink system for drinking and cooking water, plus a basic shower upgrade. This covers the water you sip and the steam you stand in daily.
- Better: Add a whole-home system to treat all the water coming into the house, and pair it with under-sink filtration for the highest-impact tap in the kitchen.
- Best: Build a full plan with whole-home protection, dedicated drinking water, and a simple maintenance schedule or subscription so you don’t have to remember filter dates.
We’ll never push you into the “best” bucket before you’re ready. Our role is to show you the options clearly and help you choose the level that feels right for your family.
What about PFAS and “forever chemicals” I keep hearing about?
PFAS, often called “forever chemicals,” are a large family of man-made compounds used for decades in non-stick pans, stain repellents, firefighting foams, and more. They’re extremely persistent in the environment, which is why they’ve become a growing concern in water.
No single filter or gadget is a magic wand, and scientists are still learning about long-term impacts. What we can do today is reduce your household’s exposure with technologies that are proven to help—especially for the water you drink, cook with, and give to kids.
Our job isn’t to scare you; it’s to put PFAS into plain English, then build a realistic, step-by-step plan that fits your home and budget.
What is “hard water” and why does it matter for my family?
Hard water simply means your water has a higher level of dissolved minerals like calcium and magnesium. It’s common and not “bad” in itself—but it can be rough on your home and your body.
In the house, hardness can leave spots on dishes, film on shower glass, and scale in appliances. On your skin and hair, it can leave you feeling dry or “never quite rinsed,” even when you’re doing everything right.
Treating hardness is less about chasing a number and more about making your everyday living—showering, laundry, dishes and appliances—feel and work better.
Do chlorine and chloramine in tap water really matter?
Chlorine and chloramine are added to city water to keep it safe as it travels through miles of pipes. They do an important job—but that doesn’t mean you want them in every glass or every shower.
In the home, these disinfectants can affect taste and smell, and for some people they can also contribute to dry skin, brittle hair, or irritated eyes. In hot showers, they don’t just touch your skin; they can also turn into vapors you breathe.
We help families reduce that day-to-day exposure while still respecting the job those disinfectants do in the system.
Do I need whole‑home or under‑sink?
Whole‑home helps with every faucet and shower; under‑sink RO focuses on cooking & drinking. Many families use both for complete protection.
What maintenance is required?
Most systems need simple, periodic filter changes. We’ll recommend the schedule based on your individual situation for your home.
How does Auto Replenishment work?
